A Hewitt news release said Dr. Robert Dawes is responsible as medical director for establishing clinical best practices for Hewitt’s absence management program delivery. Previously, Dawes maintained a private practice for more than 20 years as a licensed clinical psychologist specializing in the assessment and treatment of psychiatric patients with learning disabilities and has consulted with various absence management companies, including Kemper National Services, Broadspire and Aetna, according to the announcement. Now staffing Hewitt’s new absence management sales group are Karen Betancourt, Jim Curcio, Clay Fleishel, and Allison Morgan. According to the announcement, Betancourt joined Hewitt in June 2008 when Hewitt acquired LCG, which provided integrated disability, leave, and absence management solutions for mid- to large-sized employers. Prior to joining Hewitt in September 2009, Curcio worked at the National Business Group on Health (NBGH) where he helped create and implement an industry-wide standardized metrics and benchmarking system for organizations' health and absence management programs. Fleishel joined Hewitt in October 2009 from Sedgwick CMS - a provider of claims and productivity management solutions to major employers - where he worked as a business development director for the past five years. With 14 years of experience in the employee benefits industry, Morgan joined Hewitt in December 2009 from Wells Fargo, where she was responsible for the new business development of brokerage, consulting, and financial analysis services for domestic and international clients.
