JLT Conducts Business Review Before Alexander Forbes Consultants & Actuaries Integration

05 October 2012 (PLANSPONSOREurope.com) – Alexander Forbes Consultant & Actuaries (AFCA) staff will find out in December whether they will be kept on by JLT, the consultancy has confirmed.

According to Duncan Howorth, chief executive of JLT Employee Benefits, the firm is conducting a review to establish how the newly acquired team will be integrated into the business.

To be finalised by Christmas, it will also decide on currently mooted plans for further acquisitions and expansions in 2013, with auto-enrolment in mind.

But Howorth confirmed AFCA chief executive Duncan Howorth will be retained in his current role, and join the JLT Benefit Solutions board.

JLT announced today it has reached an agreement to buy the AFCA portion of Alexander Forbes’ UK business for £17m subject to regulatory approval.

Howorth told PLANSPONSOR Europe JLT will  be “open and transparent” with staff, following the review, but he is optimistic future business growth will be brought about by auto-enrolment and clients focusing more on flexible benefits and the operation of high quality DC schemes.
