The Web-based Retirement Service Center from Insperity Inc. uses PlanServe’s Relevant Portal Web platform. Now updated, the service center gives plan participants control of their accounts with step-by-step guides for online enrollment, distributions, account alerts, loan modeling and investment performance.

AXA Equitable has compiled a suite of mobile retirement planning applications, tools and online resources. Included in the offering are virtual retirement consultations with financial professionals; retirement income calculators for BlackBerry and iPhone users; the SSA Social Security Benefits Calculator; and retirement shortfall calculators.

An Apple iPhone and iPad app launched by Diversified enables plan participants to view multiple aspects of their retirement portfolio. The viewable items include account balance, retirement outlook, statement and transaction history, personal rate of return, and estimated retirement income and savings goal. Plan participants with Diversified accounts can download the free app via the Apple App Store.

New York Life Retirement Plan Services created a new website for plan sponsors and advisers. offers an enhanced platform featuring thought leadership, corporate background and product and capability information. Now serving as the main marketing portal for New York Life Retirement Plan Services, the website will launch the firm’s social media strategy, which is currently in development.

The online program “RENEW Your Commitment to Retirement Planning” was introduced by Transamerica Retirement Services to help plan participants re-energize their commitment to saving for retirement and keep their retirement strategy on track over the long term. The program also encourages participants to review their goals, create a successful plan, know their risk tolerance and monitor their accounts.

Alerus Retirement Solutions, a division of Alerus Financial, introduced a mobile app for plan participants. Available for both iPhone and Android devices, the app allows participants to receive fast and secure inquiry access to their Plan Gateway account information. They can also view account activity, current balance by investment and source, rate of return and recent contribution information. The app sends personalized alerts about account events regarding contributions, loans and market changes.

Prudential Financial produced a white paper addressing Americans’ challenges to achieving their retirement objectives. “Achieving Retirement Security in an Age of Uncertainty: Three Important Steps” outlines specific actions for increasing retirement security.
