VT Solar Firm Offers New Workplace Benefit
September 3, 2009 (PLANSPONSOR.com) - A White River
Junction, Vermont, solar power company is offering a
workplace benefit program in which employers can contribute
part of the cost when employees add solar power to their
homes.
A news release from groSolar said its
Employee Green Benefits program offers group
discounts on solar power systems for employees.
After the employer contribution, groSolar in turn
discounts the cost of the system to the homeowner by
approximately $0.25 per watt, which would be a $1,250
discount on a 5kw system. Homeowners then can access
state and federal incentives, according to the news
release.
groSolar said employees must sign up for a site
evaluation during a limited time open-enrollment period
to qualify.
"The groSolar Green Benefits Program is an
inexpensive benefit for companies to offer their
employees," said Gaelan Brown, vice president of
Marketing for groSolar, in the news release.
"It's good for employee retention and publically
demonstrates that employers are socially and
environmentally responsible."
