Post-Retirement

Post-retirement benefits are pension, health, and other welfare programs that the employer agrees to provide once a full-time employee has left the company. Benefits may start immediately after retirement or may be delayed until the retiree reaches a certain age.

They can include post-retirement health care, life insurance provided outside a retirement plan, as well as other services such as estate planning, housing subsidies, or cbontinuing education assistance.

As the Baby Boomers head into their retirement years benefit programs—particularly those covering a post-retirement period—are likely to dominate the agenda of talented older workers concerned about a comfortable retirement.
