Newspaper Reporter Again Ranked Worst Job

For the third year in a row, newspaper reporter came in dead last on CareerCast.com’s 28th annual Jobs Rated report.

To determine the 200 best and worst jobs, the Jobs Rated report analyzed each job’s environment (emotional, physical and hours worked), income (growth potential and salary), outlook, along with 11 stress factors to determine which professions are among the most and least desirable. Human resources manager came in 12th on the list.  

The 10 worst jobs, according to CareerCast, are:

• 199. Logger
• 198. Broadcaster
• 197. Disc Jockey
• 196. Enlisted Military
• 195. Pest Control Worker
• 194. Retail Sales Person
• 193. Advertising Sales Person
• 192. Taxi Driver
• 191. Firefighter

The 10 best jobs are:

• 1. Data Scientist
• 2. Statistician
• 3. Info. Security Analyst
• 4. Audiologist
• 5. Diagnostic Medical Sonographer
• 6. Mathematician
• 7. Software Engineer
• 8. Computer Systems Analyst
• 9. Speech Pathologist
• 10. Actuary
