Tuesday, the Dow fell 155.83 points (0.38%) to close at 40,368.96, the Nasdaq fell 8.32 points (0.05%) to close at 16,823.17 and the S&P 500 fell 9.34 points (0.17%) to close at 5,396.63. The Russell 2000 rose 2.04 points (0.11%) to close at 1,882.92, and the FT Wilshire 5000 Index fell 69.75 points (0.13%) to close at 53,652.52.

The 10-year Treasury note increased 25/32, bringing the yield to 4.340%. The 30-year Treasury bond increased 4/32, bringing the yield to 4.789%.
