Wednesday, the Dow fell 699.57 points (1.73%) to close at 39,669.39, the Nasdaq fell 516.01 points (3.07%) to close at 16,307.16 and the S&P 500 fell 120.93 points (2.24%) to close at 5,275.70. The Russell 2000 fell 19.44 points (1.03%) to close at 1,863.48, and the FT Wilshire 5000 Index fell 1,129.18 points (2.10%) to close at 52,523.34.

The 10-year Treasury note increased 5/32, bringing the yield to 4.282%. The 30-year Treasury bond increased 29/32, bringing the yield to 4.732%.
