Wednesday, the Dow gained 316.01 points (0.93%) to finish at 34,137.31, the Nasdaq closed 163.95 points (1.19%) higher at 13,950.22, and the S&P 500 was up 38.48 points (0.93%) at 4,173.42. The Russell 2000 increased 51.42 points (2.35%) to 2,239.63, and the Wilshire 5000 climbed 465.35 points (1.08%) to 43,673.61.

The prices of the 10-year Treasury note and 30-year Treasury bond were virtually unchanged, with their yields down to 1.560% and 2.255%, respectively.
