The Producer Price Index for final demand increased 0.6% in July, as prices for final demand services rose 0.5% and the index for final demand goods advanced 0.8%, the Bureau of Labor Statistics reported. The final demand index decreased 0.4% for the 12 months ended in July.

The Russell 2000 decreased 9.57 points (0.60%) to 1,575.10, and the Wilshire 5000 lost 290.11 points (0.84%) to finish at 34,063.95.

The price of the 10-year Treasury note decreased 27/32, bringing its yield up to 0.641%. The price of the 30-year Treasury bond fell 1 31/32, increasing its yield to 1.335%.
