Monday, the Dow rose 33.19 points (0.08%) to close at 43,461.21, the Nasdaq fell 237.08 points (1.21%) to close at 19,286.93 and the S&P 500 fell 29.88 points (0.50%) to close at 5,983.25. The Russell 2000 fell 17.08 points (0.78%) to close at 2,178.27, and the FT Wilshire 5000 Index fell 316.17 points (0.53%) to close at 59,821.52.

The 10-year Treasury note increased 2/32, bringing the yield to 4.410%. The 30-year Treasury bond increased 4/32, bringing the yield to 4.658%.

Marcos, under pressure from the U.S. fled his country for Hawaii after a fraudulent electoral victory over Corazon Aquino, who replaced him as president.
