Yesterday, the Dow increased 99.13 points (0.29%) to 34,364.50, the Nasdaq gained 86.21 points (0.63%) to finish at 13,855.13, and the S&P 500 was up 12.19 points (0.28%) at 4,410.13. The Russell 2000 climbed 45.59 points (2.29%) to 2,033.51, and the Wilshire 5000 closed 235.45 points (0.53%) higher at 44,455.26.
The price of the 10-year Treasury note was unchanged, with its yield up to 1.764%. The price of the 30-year Treasury bond decreased 29/32, increasing its yield to 2.114%.

ON THIS DATE: In 1858, Mendelssohn’s “Wedding March” was presented for the first time at the wedding of the daughter of Queen Victoria and the Crown Prince of Prussia. In 1890, the United Mine Workers of America was founded. The company was originally named Blue Ribbon Sports. In 1999, in Louisville, Kentucky, a man received the first hand transplant in the United States. In 2010, in Arlington, Texas, the International Bowling Museum and Hall of Fame had its grand opening.
