The Producer Price Index for final demand increased 1.0% in June, as prices for final demand services rose 0.8% and the index for final demand goods moved up 1.2%, the Bureau of Labor Statistics reported. The final demand index advanced 7.3% for the 12 months ended in June.
Market Mirror
Wednesday, the Dow increased 44.44 points (0.13%) to 34,933.23, the Nasdaq closed 32.70 points (0.22%) lower at 14,644.95, and the S&P 500 was up 5.09 points (0.12%) at 4,374.30. The Russell 2000 fell 36.51 points (1.63%) to 2,202.36, and the Wilshire 5000 lost 102.85 points (0.23%) to finish at 45,410.75.

The price of the 10-year Treasury note increased 29/32, bringing its yield down to 1.342%. The price of the 30-year Treasury bond climbed 1 7/32, decreasing its yield to 1.975%.
