In the week ending June 21, the advance figure for seasonally adjusted initial claims was 236,000, a decrease of 10,000
from the previous week’s revised level of 246,000. The four-week moving average was 245,000, a decrease of 750 from the previous week’s revised average of 245,750. 

The 30-year fixed-rate mortgage averaged 6.77% as of June 26, 2025, down from last week when it averaged 6.81%. A year ago at this time, the 30-year FRM averaged 6.86%. The 15-year fixed-rate mortgage averaged 5.89%, down from last week when it averaged 5.96%. A year ago at this time, the 15-year FRM averaged 6.16%.
MARKET MIRROR
Thursday the Dow rose 404.41 (0.94%) to close at 43,386.84, the Nasdaq rose 194.36 (0.97%) to close at 20,167.91 and the S&P rose 48.86 (0.80%) to close at 6,141.02. The Russell 2000 rose 35.92 (1.68%) to close at 2,172.11, and the FT Wilshire 5000 Index rose 532.42 (0.88%) to close at 61,334.01.

The 10-year Treasury note rose 26/32, bringing the yield to 4.243%. The 30-year Treasury bond rose 28/32, bringing the yield to 4.802%.
