Tuesday, the Bureau of Labor Statistics will report the producer price index for April. Wednesday, the Bureau of Labor Statistics will report the consumer price index for April. Thursday, the Department of Labor will issue its initial jobless claims report, Freddie Mac will update average mortgage rates for the week and the Census Bureau will report housing starts for April.
MARKET MIRROR
Friday, the Dow rose 125.08 points (0.32%) to close at 39,512.84, the Nasdaq fell 5.40 points (0.03%) to close at 16,340.87 and the S&P 500 rose 8.60 points (0.16%) to close at 5,222.68. The Russell 2000 fell 13.85 points (0.67%) to close at 2,059.78, and the FT Wilshire 5000 Index rose 52.14 points (0.099%) to close at 52,468.28.

The 10-year Treasury note fell 25/32, bringing the yield to 4.502%. The 30-year Treasury bond fell  32/32, bringing the yield to 4.642%.

For the week ending May 10, the Dow rose 2.16%, the Nasdaq rose 1.14% and the S&P 500 rose 1.85%. The Russell 2000 rose 1.18%, and the FT Wilshire 5000 Index finished 1.77% higher.
