Wednesday, the Dow climbed 553.16 points (2.21%) to 25,548.27, the NASDAQ was up 72.14 points (0.77%) at 9,412.36, and the S&P 500 increased 44.36 points (1.48%) to 3,036.13. The Russell 2000 gained 43.28 points (3.11%) to finish at 1,436.36, and the Wilshire 5000 closed 469.78 points (1.54%) higher at 30,887.26.

The price of the 10-year Treasury note was up 1/32, decreasing its yield to 0.697%. The price of the 30-year Treasury bond was down 2/32, increasing its yield to 1.454%.

SURVEY SAYS: The New York Times issued its summer reading list last week. It is time for our annual summer reading list survey as well. The thought behind a summer reading list is that people will take vacations and have more time to read; however, with financial insecurity, travel restrictions and health fears caused by the COVID-19 pandemic, summer may look different for many. This week, I’d like to know, do you still have vacation plans this summer, and do you expect to have more time to read this summer than you usually do?
