Tuesday, the Dow fell 154.52 points (0.36%) to close at 42,233.05, the Nasdaq rose 145.56 points (0.78%) to close at 18,712.75 and the S&P 500 rose 9.40 points (0.16%) to close at 5,832.92. The Russell 2000 fell 5.98 (0.27%) to close at 2,238.09, and FT Wilshire 5000 Index rose 88.63 points (0.15%) to close at 58,397.06.

The 10-year Treasury note increased 2/32, bringing the yield to 4.257%. The 30-year Treasury bond increased 5/32, bringing the yield 4.501%.
