 Wednesday, the Bureau of Labor Statistics will release the Consumer Price Index for August. Thursday, the Department of Labor will issue its initial jobless claims report and Freddie Mac will update average mortgage rates for the week.
MARKET MIRROR
Friday, the Dow fell 410.34 points (1.01%) to close at 40,345.41, the Nasdaq fell 436.83 points (2.55%) to close at 16,690.83 and the S&P 500 fell 94.99 points (1.73%) to close at 5,408.42. The Russell 2000 fell 40.65 points (1.91%) to close at 2,091.41, and the FT Wilshire 5000 Index fell 952.04 points (1.73%) to close at 54,070.98.

The 10-year Treasury note increased 1/32, bringing the yield to 3.722%. The 30-year Treasury bond decreased 1/32, bringing the yield to 4.027%.

In the week ending September 6, the Dow fell 2.93%, the Nasdaq fell 5.77% and the S&P 500 fell 2.93%. The Russell 2000 fell 5.69%, and the FT Wilshire 5000 finished 4.39% lower.
