Phil Loftus has joined OneAmerica as vice president of actuarial services.

Loftus will lead the defined benefit actuarial team, bringing experience and innovative ideas that stem from approximately 20 years of established success in actuarial consulting. He was previously a director and consulting actuary at PricewaterhouseCoopers.

Bill Yoerger, president of retirement services for OneAmerica, says Loftus brings substantial experience helping companies understand complex pension issues and developing strategies to adapt in a dynamic marketplace.

Loftus holds a bachelor’s degree in actuarial science from the University of Iowa. He is a fellow of the Society of Actuaries and an enrolled actuary, and he has worked through Junior Achievement, at times pairing with the Actuarial Foundation, to equip advanced math teachers in middle schools and high schools to educate students about personal finance as well as opportunities in the actuarial profession.
