401Go Initiative Connects Retirement Plan Sponsors with Advisers

GoConnect is a component of an initiative seeking to intergrate the recordkeeper into wider business activities, such as benchmarking, lead generation, and marketing consulting.

401Go, a 401(k) retirement plan provider, has launched GoConnect, a program dedicated to matching 401(k) plan sponsors with financial advisers. GoConnect is primarily available to financial advisers, but 401Go also works with companies setting up their own retirement plans without an adviser.

GoConnect is part of 401Go’s larger practice management initiative to branch out from 401(k) recordkeeping to benchmarking, lead generation and marketing consulting.

“Given 401Go’s role in the fintech ecosystem—working closely with both 401(k) plan sponsors and financial advisers—we are in a great position to know which pairings are most likely to succeed and produce real synergies,” said Stan Smith, 401Go’s chief growth officer. “Everybody associated with these partnerships benefits.”

Smith cited a June study by Northwestern Mutual that found that 76% of survey participants with a financial adviser described their finances as “strong,” compared to only 44% of participants without an adviser.

According to its announcement, 401Go aims to combine “state-of-the-art digital tools alongside the guidance and support of seasoned retirement experts.”
