Half of Workers Say Performance Reviews Don’t Work

April 19, 2011 (PLANSPONSOR.com) – New research finds employee disillusionment with the traditional performance review process.

The 2011 Globoforce Workforce Mood Tracker, a semi-annual survey that provides insights on the current mood of the U.S. worker, discovered that more than half (51%) of today’s workforce thinks employee performance reviews are not an accurate appraisal for their work. Nearly one-quarter (24%) of respondents said they dread their annual review more than anything else.

According to a press release, only 25% of survey respondents receive a performance review more than once a year; 18% receive semi-annual feedback, while 7% have monthly reviews. More than two in ten (22%) reported never having a review at all.
