Aon in Pact with Reed Group for Absence Management Offering
June 29, 2004 (PLANSPONSOR.com) - HR managers have a
new product to consider to help them keep track of employees'
work - and absence - records.
Reported by Fred Schneyer
Aon Corporation and Reed Group said in a news release that a partnership between the two firms will deliver a suite of Web-based, absence management tools and consulting services aimed at large companies.
For the first time, Aon Consulting clients can complete all necessary absence reporting requirements through Aon’s web-based HR Portal or via Reed Group’s call center. In addition to short- and long-term disability management, the Aon/Reed alliance will also enable companies to outsource compliance with the Family Medical Leave Act (FMLA).
According to the announcement, the new offering gives employers:
- A more efficient, automated benefit administration process and a clinically based outreach to employee health. Employers can access timely, accurate management information to track lost-time costs and absence outcomes.
- An easier, faster way to initiate absence leave (online or by telephone) and a single platform to check leave status. Employees receive clinical information and support both online and from their case managers.
- A closer tie to the absence management process and enhanced reporting on return to work. Their ability to view information in real time allows them to enhance their workforce planning.
- A collaboration with clinical staff – not claims staff – to deliver consistent, medical case management and appropriate care for return to work. Nurses work with the treating providers to establish return-to-work goals and help manage the patient’s disability.
