2025 Best in Class 401(k) Plans

PLANSPONSOR is pleased to announce the 11th ‘class’ of plans to have earned its Best in Class 401(k) Plan designation.

For the 11th year, PLANSPONSOR is recognizing 401(k) retirement plans and their sponsors that stand out for their exceptional best practices. From the 2,458 401(k) plans whose sponsors completed the PLANSPONSOR Defined Contribution Survey, five qualified as 2025 PLANSPONSOR Best in Class winners.

In addition, because Best in Class plans must requalify every five years for this status, we honor the two 2020 Best in Class winners that still meet the criteria used in our proprietary Best in Class scoring system.

Plans were rated on participant enrollment and engagement; plan design features; availability of participant education and financial wellness programs; plan governance variables, such as fiduciary training, plan benchmarking and fees; and more. Plans exceeding the established benchmark were recognized as Best in Class winners.
