Companies Slicing Executive Golf Club Perks
June 5, 2003 (PLANSPONSOR.com) - Companies are
declaring a mulligan on executive golf and club
memberships.
Reported by
Eric Hazard
In fact, only 21% of those companies surveyed by comensationresources.com currently offer golf and club memberships to their executives, down from 34% in 2001. Some respondents referred to their practice of doing so as “very selective” or “scant.” Those offering memberships plan to continue.
Further, one in four respondents were aware of another organization that offers perks, while 10% knew of another organization that discontinued the practice. The majority of participants though, were either unaware of any current trend in executive perks, or voiced no opinion.
