Borne will focus on public-sector retirement services, sales and relationship management in a nine-state region across the Western U.S. He is based in San Diego and reports to Brent Neese, vice president of Government Markets. Borne replaces Kent Morris, who retires March 1 after nearly 30 years with the company.
Before joining Great-West, Borne spent 10 years with Nationwide Retirement Solutions, most recently as managing director. Borne earned his Bachelor’s Degree in Finance from Southeast Missouri State University. He holds FINRA Series 7, 66 and 26 licenses, as well as a Certified Retirement Counselor designation, and is a member of the National Association of Government Defined Contribution Administrators (NAGDCA).
“John is a recognized public market champion who has focused exclusively on government retirement plan administration, service and sales the past 13 years,” Neese said. “I’m confident he will be an immediate asset to Western Region clients who look to Great-West Financial to bring them quality, cost-effective retirement plan solutions.”
