A press release said Welch will be based in the firm’s Greenbrae, California, office and will focus on institutional and consultant relationships, as well as wealth management firms and private banks. He will report to William Stout, Director of Investor Relations and Business Development.
Welch brings seventeen years of financial services experience to Robeco-Sage, according to the announcement. He joins the firm from Coast Asset Management, where he was a Managing Director and Director of Marketing, responsible for managing the firm’s relationships with financial intermediaries and institutional clients. Previously, Welch worked at Lazard Asset Management and Merrill Lynch.
Robeco-Sage was founded in 1994 by former partners of Goldman Sachs, and is part of the Robeco Group, a $194-billion asset management firm and wholly-owned subsidiary of Rabobank. Robeco-Sage manages $1.4 billion in assets.
