Schwab Announces Two Appointments

June 19, 2002 (PLANSPONSOR.com) - The Charles Schwab Corporation has done some reshuffling in its retail and institutional groups.

John P. Coghlan, vice chairman and enterprise president, Schwab Institutional will take over as head of the company’s Retail business, relieving Schwab co-CEO and president David S Pottruck of his duties.

Coghlan has led Schwab Institutional since 1987, overseeing Schwab’s services for corporations and their employees through retirement plans and equity compensation plans. He also manages Schwab’s services for independent, fee-compensated investment advisors.

William Atwell has been named executive vice president at Schwab’s Institutional, International and Banking group.

Atwell joined Schwab in August 2000 and where he was responsible for managing Schwab’s international business and for leading the development of the Charles Schwab Bank in the US. He will maintain these duties in addition to his new ones.
