SunTrust Acquires High-Net Worth Management Firm

April 16, 2001 (PLANSPONSOR.com) - SunTrust Banks, Inc has acquired Asset Management Advisors (AMA), a specialized wealth management firm for an undisclosed amount.

Jupiter, Florida-based AMA, founded in 1990 and employing 25 people, will continue to operate under its own name and current management and expand SunTrust?s high net-worth line of businesses. AMA’s staff are also located in Jackson, Wyoming, operating at Teton Trust Company and Philadelphia, as Lighthouse Partners, LLC.

SunTrust Banks has approximately $130 billion in total trust assets and $90 billion in discretionary assets under management.
