The Principal Introduces New Wellness Offering
March 2, 2011 (PLANSPONSOR.com) - The Principal has introduced a new workplace wellness program, designed for small to medium-sized businesses.
Reported by Rebecca Moore
The new wellness solution provides employers a complete, year-round plan including communication materials, and engagement and incentive strategies that meet the unique needs of small to medium-sized businesses. It is designed to engage all employees and can incorporate local activities. Employers receive a step-by-step guide to help them implement and manage their company program.
According to a press release key features of the offering include:
- Preventive screening services;
- Health coaches employees can contact to discuss their wellness;
- Online wellness portal designed to meet individual employee needs; and
- Monthly communication available to employees on a wide variety of topics.
Recent studies indicate that wellness programs can reduce overall health care costs for employers, increasing the bottom line (see Healthy Workplaces Can Lead to Employer Savings and Wellness Programs Can Pay Off for Employers).
