TRIVIAL PURSUITS: Who Was the First African-American to Play Baseball in the Major League?

Jackie Robinson is most often cited as the first African American player in Major League Baseball; but he wasn’t.

Moses Fleetwood Walker was the first African American to play in Major League Baseball. He was a catcher.

However, due to racial tensions and threats, he only played one season. This was 63 years before Jackie Robinson joined the Major League.
