2015 PLANSPONSOR Plan Sponsor of the Year Finalists

The annual PLANSPONSOR Plan Sponsor of the Year Awards recognize a number of plan sponsors that demonstrate leadership in providing a more secure retirement for workers.

In the Corporate 401(k) < $50 Million category, the finalists are:

  • Community Blood Center/Community Tissue Services Dayton, Ohio
  • Massey Services, Inc. Orlando, Florida
  • Showplace Wood Products, Inc. Harrisburg, South Dakota
  • Swiss International Air Lines Ltd. East Meadow, New York
  • Wharton-Smith, Inc. Sanford, Florida

In the Corporate 401(k) $50 Million to $250 Million category, the finalists are:

  • Dawn Food Products Jackson, Michigan
  • J.E. Dunn Construction Co. Kansas City, Missouri
  • Trover Solutions, Inc. Louisville, Kentucky

In the Corporate 401(k) $250 Million to $1 Billion category, the finalists are:

  • Brown-Forman Corporation Louisville, Kentucky
  • Cabot Corporation Boston, Massachusetts
  • INEOS USA LLC League City, Texas
  • McCain Foods USA, Inc. Lisle, Illinois
  • Republic National Distributing Company Atlanta, Georgia

In the Corporate 401(k) > $1 Billion category, judges selected just one finalist, which is therefore also the winner of the award:

  • Credit Suisse New York, New York

In the 403(b) category, the finalists are:

  • Gillette Children’s Specialty Healthcare St. Paul, Minnesota
  • North Shore-Long Island Jewish Health System Lake Success, New York
  • University of Rochester Rochester, New York

In the Public DC category, the finalists are:

  • City of Las Vegas Las Vegas, Nevada
  • County of San Diego Deferred Compensation Program San Diego, California

In the Public DB category, the finalists are:

  • Illinois Municipal Retirement Fund  Oak Brook, Illinois
  • Missouri Local Government Employee Retirement System (LAGERS) Jefferson City, Missouri

For the first time, the judges have also selected one finalist/winner in a new category, Multiple Retirement Plans:

  • Mary Washington Healthcare  Fredericksburg, Virginia

To be considered, a plan sponsor must first be nominated for the award. Nominations are accepted from across the industry, after which the sponsor is asked to complete an online form providing details about its plan’s administration, participant statistics and data, such as participation rates. A committee of PLANSPONSOR editors reviews the submissions and selects those that rise to the top.

Winners and finalists will be recognized at the annual PLANSPONSOR/PLANADVISER Awards for Excellence dinner in New York City on March 31, and also will be featured in the March issue of PLANSPONSOR magazine.
