EBSA Answers More Questions on Health Care Reform Provisions

November 1, 2010 (PLANSPONSOR.com) – The U.S. Department of Labor’s Employee Benefits Security Administration has set out three Frequently Asked Questions (FAQs) regarding implementation of the market reform provisions of the Affordable Care Act.

The FAQs address the frequency of disclosures that a plan considers itself a grandfathered plan, the effect on grandfathered status if a plan previously allowed participants an option of reduced premiums in exchange for higher cost sharing, and treatment under the Act of a plan reimbursing employees for care of children with disabilities that is separate from an employer’s primary medical plans.  

FAQs were previously issued on September 20, 2010, October 8, 2010, and October 12, 2010.
