Jackson Lewis names new employee benefits principal; State Street appoints Pete Dorsey as chief risk officer; and Prosperity taps Jeff Lenhart as president.
Prosperity Taps Jeff Lenhart as President
Prosperity, an EisnerAmper company and a registered investment adviser, named Jeff Lenhart as president to lead the firm’s overall strategic direction and long-term growth.
Prior to joining Prosperity, Lenhart was a partner in Forvis Mazars and served as the Southeast regional leader of its national wealth management business.
Lenhart succeeds outgoing President Michele Martin, who will remain with the firm. During Martin’s tenure, which began in March 2023, she has worked across the organization and within the wealth management business to grow assets under management to $5.7 billion from $1.2 billion.
Jackson Lewis Names New Employee Benefits Principal
Melissa Kurtzman joined employment law firm Jackson Lewis P.C. as a principal in the firm’s Philadelphia office. Kurtzman joins from Littler Mendelson P.C. and brings more than 30 years of industry experience.
Kurtzman will advise employers on the design, implementation and administration of qualified and nonqualified retirement plans, welfare and fringe benefit programs, employee benefits tax matters, and benefits issues arising in mergers and acquisitions. She will also counsel clients on fiduciary responsibilities, reporting and disclosure obligations, government correction programs, and contingent workforce issues.
Kurtzman has represented plan sponsors in Internal Revenue Service and Department of Labor audits and assisted with employee benefit plan self-audits and government examinations. Her practice involves advising clients across industries, including retail, accounting, construction, transportation, healthcare, manufacturing, financial services and nonprofit organizations. Prior to private practice, Kurtzman was director of ERISA compliance for a national retirement plan administration company, where she oversaw the preparation and administration of qualified retirement plans.
Kurtzman earned a J.D. from the University of Toledo College of Law and a B.A. from Michigan State University.
State Street Appoints Pete Dorsey as Chief Risk Officer
State Street announced the appointment of Pete Dorsey as chief risk officer of its wealth services division.
According to the company, the hire reflects a broader build-out underway within State Street’s wealth business. As the firm expands wealth services offerings, including its investment in Apex Fintech Solutions and the development of a modern wealth platform, it has been recruiting senior leaders with deep experience serving registered investment advisers, other advisers, and wealth management firms.
Dorsey brings experience from across the wealth ecosystem, including leadership roles at Altruist, LPL Financial and TD Ameritrade Institutional.
