TIAA-CREF Execs Start Financial Education and Planning Firm

October 7, 2004 (PLANSPONSOR.com) - Two former tenured directors of TIAA-CREF have begun operations of their workplace financial education and planning service, Your Life Financial.

Peter D’Angio and John Koehler, co-presidents and founders of the company, recently left their positions at the $320 billion financial services corporation to start up Your Life Financial. The company, according to a press release, will assist organizations by developing customized, need-based financial education and planning services for employees. The goal, the release states, is to reduce employee stress and distractions in the workplace, fulfill the fiduciary obligations of employers, and to improve morale and productivity.

Your Life Financial’s  education and planning services will be provided by Certified Financial Planning (CFB) practitioners and Registered Investment Advisors (RIA).

D’Angio worked at TIAA-CREF for 11 years, where he was director of quality assurance. He has a BS from Clemson University and an MS from University of Colorado, Denver.

Koehler has over 15 years experience in the financial industry. At TIAA-CREF, he was the director of council services and the personal consulting group. He has a BS in Finance from Clarkson College.
