Mercer Brings out Custody Database

April 30, 2002 (PLANSPONSOR.com) - Mercer Investment Consulting has launched a new Web-based Global Custody Database.

Features of the new product include:

  • research and analysis across geographical boundaries and market segments,
  • quick custody searches,
  • the ability to help clients benchmark current or prospective custodians’ capabilities and
    fees against industry standards and best practices, and
  • an option for custodians to update their data online

The Global Custody Database is Mercer Investment Consulting’s newest offering, sitting alongside Mercer’s web-based Global Investment Manager Database (GIMD). According to Mercer, GIMD contains data on more than 8,800 investment strategies offered by some 1,700 money-management firms.

Since its launch in January 2000, GIMD has been used to facilitate more than 1,500 manager searches, according to Mercer.
