Manulife Unveils State Tax Calculator for 529 Plans

consultants may have an easier time in deciding whether a
client would be better off contributing to their state's 529
college savings plan as compared to a national plan, Manulife
Financial said in a press release.

The company launched a new online calculator for state tax benefits that is available for registered users of Manulife’s College Savings Resource Center , Manulife said.
Manulife launched its own 529 plan, Manulife College Savings, in 2001. It is distributed by Manulife Financial Securities, managed by T. Rowe Price and sponsored by the University of Alaska.
According to the press release, Manulife’s product offers a wider than usual variety of investment choices and allows savings of up to $250,000.
