Online Hiring Questionnaire Hits the Shelves

July 16, 2003 (PLANSPONSOR.com) - Hiring managers may want to consider a new product from Manpower to help in their candidate-screening process.

According to a news release, Manpower’s NetSelect product helps a company representative build an online questionnaire designed to determine whether a candidate has the skills and background being sought. Employers can set up a Web link between an online job posting and the questionnaire.

The announcement said the program assigns each candidate a score, based on how closely they fit the prerequisites. Information on all applicants is then organized into a database, which hiring managers can use to help them screen candidates to move on to a second stage in the process. Companies can also keep in touch with candidates through NetSelect’s e-mail function, which keeps a record of all correspondence.

Employers may be able to save time and money because only candidates with the highest scores proceed to the more time- and cost-intensive screening procedures, Manpower said. With fewer candidates to evaluate, the time-to-hire process is shortened and new hires are on the job faster than before.
