HedgeWorld Opens Door to Trading Site

September 17, 2002 (PLANSPONSOR.com) - Beginning today, HedgeWorld.com is opening up its trading site to wealthy individual investors.

The HedgeWorld Markets site ( http://markets.hedgeworld.com ) is a trading platform where accredited investors can put money into roughly 100 hedge funds without paying extra transaction fees or consulting bankers or investment advisors, according to Reuters.

Investors who want to browse must promise that they can commit at least $1 million before they are given a password to the platform.  HedgeWorld says over 3,000 such potential investors have already registered.

Once on the site though, private investors may find themselves on more equal footing with institutional investors.
