GNI Capital Introduces New Index Fund
April 17, 2003 (PLANSPONSOR.com) - GNI Capital has
introduced a new index fund that selects and weighs
investments based on after-tax profit in lieu of market
capitalization.
Reported by Eric Hazard
The Profit-Based 100 is a new common fund created by Counsel Trust in York, Pennsylvania and sub-advised by GNI Capital. The fund is constructed in the same way as the index, with all investments made on a quantitative basis.
Creation of the fund was based on a 12-year analysis of an index composed of the 100 US companies with the largest quarterly profits. The analysis revealed these selections outperformed the S&P 500 by 67% cumulatively, and by 75% on a Sharpe ratio basis.
