Web Site Adds Restricted Stock Info

May 12, 2010 (PLANSPONSOR.com) – The Web site mystockoptions.com has added a new feature called The Restricted Stock Comparison Modeling Tool.

A news release said  the new offering addresses the key financial and tax planning issue for grants of restricted stock/RSUs: sell the shares at vesting for an alternative investment, or hold the company stock?

The tool helps employees and executives decide what to do with company stock once it vests and is based on a patented Options & SARs Comparison Modeling Tool.Users must have grant data in the site’s grant portfolio tracker for the data to pre-feed the tool.

For more stories like this, sign up for the PLANSPONSOR NEWSDash daily newsletter.

With the new tool, users can:

  • See the future value of restricted stock and RSUs at vesting;
  • Compare holding shares from restricted stock/RSUs at vesting with selling the shares to fund an alternative investment;
  • View graphs that illustrate the differences between company stock and investment alternatives; and
  • Dynamically edit tax rates, stock-price changes, dividend rates, holding periods after vesting, and returns on alternative investments to make projections and see various scenarios.
