PBGC Asks for Ideas on Regulatory Changes

April 4, 2011 (PLANSPONSOR.com) – The Pension Benefit Guaranty Corporation is asking for help in identifying regulations for possible modification, streamlining, or repeal.

They will be incorporated into a preliminary regulatory review plan in response to President Obama’s Executive Order 13563 on Improving Regulation and Regulatory Review. The PBGC said in the Federal Register that the purpose of this review is to make the agency’s regulatory program both more effective and less burdensome.

The PBGC is asking the public to suggest candidate regulations for review, alternative approaches, etc. to help prepare the preliminary plan. There will be additional opportunities for public comment after the preliminary plan is developed and approved.
