TRIVIAL PURSUITS: How Many Quarters Have Washington on Both Sides?
July 6, 2010 (PLANSPONSOR.com) - Doubtless you are familiar with the set of state quarters.
Reported by Nevin E. Adams
But how many of those states’ quarters have an image of George Washington on BOTH sides?
Answer:
Two.
New Jersey’s quarter has a design based on the famous painting by Leutze, “Washington Crossing the Delaware,” while South Dakota’s quarter has, among other icons, the Mount Rushmore National Monument on its reverse – and, of course, George Washington is one of the 4 presidents honored on that monument.
