Employers Say Employees Are Happy with Benefits
March 8, 2011 (PLANSPONSOR.com) – Seventy-eight percent of employers surveyed by BLR said they believe their employees to be either very or somewhat happy with the benefits with which they are provided.

However, 74% of respondents reported they do not survey their employees to determine benefit satisfaction.
According to BLR, although 59% of respondents do not use outside survey data to determine benefits, 89% indicated they believe the benefits they provide are at least similar to those provided by other employers with which they compete for labor.
The survey also found that 60% of employers said their organization provides employees with an annual summary of benefit program features. The BLR report said 58% of companies with less than 100 employees provided such a summary, rising to 79% for companies employing 1000 or more.
Nearly half (47%) of participating companies reported providing benefits summaries on paper alone, while 39% reported using both paper and electronic delivery methods, and 14% reported using electronic methods exclusively.
The survey, which garnered 979 responses, was conducted by BLR’s HR Daily Advisor in February 2011.
