Demand for Temporary Workers Expected to Increase
March 13, 2006 (PLANSPONSOR.com) - Demand for
temporary workers in the US for the second quarter of 2006 is
expected to exceed slightly more than 4% over the same period
last year.

The RemedyTemp Quarterly Labor Forecast predicted a 5% increase in the demand for temporary labor in first quarter of 2006, however, information from the Bureau of Labor Statistics (BLS) showed the actual increase will be from 5 1/2% to 6%, according to a news release.
Greg Palmer, RemedyTemp’s president and chief executive officer, said in the release, “Including the expected first quarter increase, we would have a clear upward trend of ten consecutive quarters of temporary staffing growth.”
Palmer also said the company is seeing “an escalated demand for full-time hiring.”
