Seligman Announces ETF Portfolios

October 5, 2005 (PLANSPONSOR.com) - Seligman Advisors, Inc. has introduced Seligman TargetHorizon ETF Portfolios, a series of mutual funds that combine exchange traded funds (ETF) with target-date funds.

A Seligman news release said that Seligman Target Horizon ETF Portfolios consist of the following three funds:

  • Seligman Targ ETFund Core, which is intended for a person who is retired or expects to retire within a short time or otherwise intends to seek withdrawals from invested assets.
  • Seligman Targ ETFund 2015, which is intended for a person who expects to retire or otherwise reach his/her investment goal around the year 2015.
  • Seligman Targ ETFund 2025 which is intended for a person who expects to retire or otherwise reach his/her investment goal around the year 2025.

Each fund is structured as a fund-of-funds that invests substantially all of its assets in ETFs.  The underlying asset allocation is based on Seligman’s unique Time Horizon Matrix risk management strategy.

Jack Cunningham, Managing Director of J. & W. Seligman & Co. and Chief Investment Officer, joins Charles Kadlec, Seligman Managing Director, as Co-Portfolio Manager of Seligman Target Horizon ETF Portfolios.

Each of the funds will offer Class A, Class C, Class D, Class R, and Class I shares .  The minimum initial investment will be $1,000 and minimum subsequent investments will be $100, according to the announcement.
