- - - In Bangor, Maine , a puppy named Chester did what puppies frequently do - - - ate something he wasn't supposed to - - - in this case, that something turned out to be rocks that his owners had placed around their new grill - - - rocks that had apparently been "flavored" by food drippings from that grill - - - so, how many rocks did Chester ingest? Six pounds worth - - - and, incredibly, Chester has "passed" all the rocks naturally (if that's possible) - - - you can see Chester at http://www.wftv.com/family/17438011/detail.html
- - - In Chatham, Kent, UK , Kate Whitmore, 25, spotted "black, hairy legs" protruding from under a box of bananas as she stacked them in the supermarket where she worked - - - legs that turned out to be attached to none other than - - - the highly-venomous Brazilian Wandering Spider - - - listed in the Guinness Book of World Records as the planet's most venomous animal - - -you can see a picture of the spider - "aggressive" and with a body more than an inch long (with its legs, three to four inches long) at http://i.dailymail.co.uk/i/pix/2008/09/05/article-1052712-0288D2FE00000578-214_468x286.jpg
You may not recall it, but Wile E. Coyote did actually catch the Road Runner - once.
In a 1980 made for TV short - "Soup or Sonic", Wile E. Coyote does catch the Road Runner.
However, he is only a couple of inches high, while Road Runner is full size, thanks to a gag involving a chase through a pipeline that gets narrower and narrower.
After a miniature Wile catches the full size Road Runner, he holds up a sign that says - "Okay, wise guys, you always wanted me to catch him. Now what do I do?" - the cartoon then ends.
