As you might expect, considering the date of his execution, John Billington arrived in America on the Mayflower.   As you might not expect, considering his role in history, he was an ancestor of a future American president.

Who was his famous descendant?

President James A. Garfield (November 19, 1831 - September 19, 1881).  

Garfield was the twentieth President of the United States, though he served the second-shortest term - a mere six months.   He was the second US president to be assassinated while in office.
