ACS Scores $171M HR BPO Outsourcing Contract From GlaxoSmithKline

February 13, 2007 (PLANSPONSOR.com) - Affiliated Computer Services, Inc. (ACS) announced Tuesday that it won a 10-year, $171 million contract to provide human resource business process outsourcing services to GlaxoSmithKline (GSK), extending its relationship with the company beyond the IT sector.

The agreement means that ACS will take over payroll processing and benefits administration for GSK’s U.S. operations and employee and manager self-service portals and integrated online tools for several HR processes in both the U.S. and the U.K, according to a press release.

Under terms of the ten-year agreement, ACS will consolidate for GSK a number of services that are currently outsourced to a variety of providers or being delivered within GSK.

“ACS has been providing services for GlaxoSmithKline in the IT sector since 2003 and the expansion of our partnership into HR BPO services is indicative of their confidence in our capabilities,” said Lynn Blodgett, ACS President and Chief Executive Officer, in the news release.

Currently, ACS provides HR BPO services for clients supporting more than three million people and delivers services from 135 global locations in 60 countries supporting 20 languages, ACS said in the announcement.
