Agility Asset Management Launches with Growth Equity Focus

January 7, 2008 (PLANSPONSOR.com) - Four investment industry veterans have hung out a new shingle as Agility Asset Management, LLC.

According to a press release, Harry W. Segalas, David A. Altman, Barton H. Buxbaum and Gregory A. Nejmeh have launched Agility Asset Management, LLC, an independent, employee-owned investment management firm. The firm is registered with the Securities and Exchange Commission as an investment adviser and applies a focused, bottom-up, fundamental approach to growth equity portfolio management.

Agility invests in approximately 25 primarily large capitalization quality growth businesses on a fully discretionary basis for institutions and ultra high net worth individuals.

Founders Backgrounds

Each founding partner brings over 25 years of investment experience to Agility. Harry Segalas, Managing Partner & Chief Investment Officer, and David Altman, Partner & Director of Research, worked closely together at W.P. Stewart & Co., Inc. for over 13 years.   According to a press release announcing Agility’s launch, at the time of their departures in the first quarter of 2007, Harry served as Chairman, Chief Executive Officer and Chief Investment Officer of W.P. Stewart & Co., Inc. David was Director of Research and Portfolio Manager. Together, Harry and David led the U.S. investment team and directly managed approximately $5 billion in client assets.

Bart Buxbaum, Partner & Director of Client Service, joined Agility from TimesSquare Capital Management, LLC, a small and mid capitalization growth equity investment management firm, where he was Senior Vice President, Product Manager. Prior to his tenure at TimesSquare, Bart was President of W.P. Stewart Asset Management (NA), where he worked closely with Harry and David to service the U.S. client base.

Greg Nejmeh, Partner & Senior Investment Officer, worked with Harry in the early stages of their investment careers at Shearson, Lehman, Hutton. The two have remained in close contact since that time. Greg continued on the sell-side for over 20 years.

Other Team Members

Other members of the Agility team include Evan R. Newman, Senior Vice President of Client Service; Ronald R. Staib, Senior Vice President of Operations & Chief Compliance Officer; Sanmeet V. Deo, Vice President – Equity Research; and Mark E. Dreifus, Associate.

Evan Newman joined Agility from TimesSquare Capital Management, LLC, where he was Vice President of Client Service. Prior to his tenure at TimesSquare, he was Vice President of W.P. Stewart Asset Management (NA), where he directed the firm’s consultant relationship efforts and focused on servicing the firm’s institutional client base. Ron Staib was Vice President at Lehman Brothers before joining Agility. He became associated with Lehman Brothers after they acquired Neuberger Berman in 2005, where he managed a variety of departments, including internal audit, operations control and new accounts. Sanmeet Deo also worked for Lehman Brothers, where he was an Analyst for the past six years. Mark Dreifus joined Agility after four years at a boutique accounting firm.
