Assurant Updates HSA Tool

April 6, 2005 (PLANSPONSOR.com) - Assurant Health has announced multiple enhancements to its Health Savings Account product for individuals and small groups.

Last year, the company unveiled HSA Tools, its consumer-directed offering for health care. Now, people in this program can invest in mutual funds, set up direct-deposit from a checking or savings account, and access information on prescription drugs.

The mutual fund families being offered under the plan are AIM, Federated, Fidelity, Franklin Templeton, OppenheimerFunds, UMB Scout, and others, the company said in a press release.

Participants can also set up automatic deposits in their accounts and can order checks and a debit card online. Also added to the tool is access to Subimo’s PharmaAdvisor, a program that offers pharmacy information on medical conditions, treatments, and available drugs.

Assurant Health ( www.assurant.com ) is a provider of insurance product and related services in North America and other selected markets.
